There were rumours back in 2017 that Rohit shetty was to make the remake of the Vijay starrer 'Theri' with Shahrukh khan. Once this rumour spread Rohit came out saying there is nothing of that sort. But, Simmba's trailer says otherwise.
Like every Rohit shetty films, there are a lot of colours and cars in this trailer. Ranveer Singh (Simmba) is introduced as a kid wanting to be a cop inspired by IPS Bhajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn); Remember 2009 Tamil film vettaikaran?
There are some slow-motion bone breaking scenes, usual in a cop story. The tension allays and eyes light up with the charming debutant Sara Ali Khan's arrival. But, unfortunately She running behind Ranveer and vice versa hints at her minimal scope.
Ranveer comes across as a venal cop or seemingly venal cop, Remember the Vikram starrer Saamy(2003)? He is broken and changed after a rape case (Theri?).
Once this inciting incident occurs the scenes again pace with loud fights and guess what Ajay Devgn (Bhajirao Singham) crashes through a glass pane with his jeep.
This typical Rohit shetty style mass entertainer on the whole looks like his tribute to South Indian cop movies, with a dash of scenes Tamil audience are familiar with.
From this over-the-top trailer, one could understand this movie won't be a brain-strainer and just needs all the commercial elements in place to make Simmba a year-end winner.
This movie's trailer was launched in youtube from the official yoitube handle of Reliance entertainment. Simmba's trailer has fetched 1,73,000 likes from the 2 hours of its launch.
