Rage and romance in air: Maari 2 and Viswasam song release

By Akshay

First, let's start with Maari 2, as it stumped my expectations, in a good way. Slow & regular beats with a honey-dipped rhythm and...... Isaignani's infectious aalaaps. This is nothing i could expect from a mass, loud franchise like Maari.

Need I say more how much i loved the song? This song does seem like a giveaway to me, i maybe wrong. Maari, as his look suggests in this lyrical video is a reformed person and not the loutish devil as we knew him. In rowdy movies like this, it could mean just one thing (please Mr. Balaji Mohan don't kill Sai Pallavi). Maybe, Maari once again becomes a rogue to avenge his wife' s death.

Next comes Thala Ajith's pongal outing Viswasam's single. 'Adichuthooku' as the name says is the hero glorifying song possibly his intro song.

I got into the video looking at the name of the song and not expecting anything other than a 'thara local kuthu' number. Despite restricting my expectation to that level, the adrenaline rush was missing (Remember Aaluma Doluma?).

The music sticks to the basics of a kuthu number and lyrics not so subliminal but more than enough to evoke whistles, claps and some dance.

Again, this lyrical hints at something that i suspected from the first look of this movie; the Madurai-Mumbai connection. There is a line 'Arabikadal nammai kondaduthu' that testifies this assumption. And also the line 'Donu darraavan, Doulathu Giraavan' gives away about the elderly Ajith, a bigshot possibly?'

These singles may have given answers for many of our doubts but gifts us more doubts. Giving away a bit from the storyline is a sure strategy to rise our curiosity and both these singles have succeeded in doing that.
